i like watching movies because they introduce poems to me (heh)

i carry your heart with me
by E. E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

"knowing that I'm Your desire"

Majesty (Here I Am)

Here I am humbled by Your Majesty
Covered by Your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I'm a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb

Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since You laid down Your life
The greatest sacrifice

Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in Your hands

Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by Your love
In the presence of Your Majesty

Here I am humbled by the love that You give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I'm Your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire

Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since You laid down Your life
The greatest sacrifice

Sometimes I feel like technology doesn't just open up roads of communication, it opens a can of worms as well. Just take for an example, the (-now) petite handphone can be such a major disturbance at times. People bombarding you with text messages at 3am, colleagues ferreting you out on a weekend with more work. Sometimes we get irritated when we do not have reception in a place, but during times when we do not want to be found, the cell phone may ring, petulantly demanding immediate attention -'Pick me up now!'.

"The World is Not Enough"

Sorry, Mister Bond. I'm not as ambitious as you are. I think it suffice to say, "The weekend is not enough."

Her Protector

He stands so close to her
She's all that he sees
His baby he needs to protect
Held in the crook of his arm
The other fending everyone else off

But really, all you end up doing is
closing yourselves off

She'll dance ever so prettily in front of you
Though there's the only place she can shine
Enclosed in the ballerina-box

Noteworthy

A comment on Switchfoot left on Youtube:

differenceofsoul (1 day ago):
"No [their] music isn't Christian. The band members are but they said it's a faith not genre."

Their music reflects their faith, not a category.

I didn't want to work, so was looking through some videos. Came across Switchfoot's This is Home from the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian movie soundtrack.

Was struck by the children's yearning for Narnia and to return to the place of beauty and courage, where everything was right in the world. Was especially reminded of how they were returned to Narnia and saw the robes that they had worn before. How as they touched the items familiar to them, there was recognition, belonging.

It's hard to envision that I have been made royalty, that God has given me a place in His kingdom through Christ's work on the Cross. But truly that's where He desires me to be.

Oh where have my eyes been wandering off to?

Greetings amigos! When my brother and I were kids, my dad used to read us CS Lewis books before we went to sleep. So when we were asked to be involved in a movie based on his book, "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" - we were honored to be considered.I wanted to capture the longing that is embedded in much of Lewis' writing- so I tried to think back to what these stories meant to me when I was six years old and write from that perspective. The song that came out is called "This is Home." It's been quite a journey: a San Diego song with strings cut at Abbey Road in London complete with a video shot in Hollywood. We are so excited to not only share this song with you, but you can hear the song streaming on our website, myspace, and facebook. The song will also be featured on the soundtrack, which is being released through Hollywood Records on Tuesday May 13th in stores everywhere. This is our first venture as an independent band- so thank you for being a part of this! And thanks again for all your continued support.- Jon Foreman

Men

(I) Man

This angry young man
shook off his girlfriend
boarded the bus

His tone was hard
He spoke with purpose
("I want nothing to do with you.")

But when his hand brushed against mine,
his skin was soft.

(II) Men
Two man moulding,
kneading, knocking
mooncakes into shape

One, a showman,
lapping up the attention
Flouring the tabletop
with dramatic tosses
Chatting up the lasses

The other,
pressing, checking,
amusement quietly playing
on his lips.

Cool night

I like you, cool night
How your wind eases
past me
Your scent is sharp but
not stinging

And everyone is asleep
except you and me.

For the Weary

Say to those who are fearful hearted
Do not be afraid
The Lord your God is strong
And with His mighty arm
When you call on His Name
He will come and save

Chorus:
He will come and save you
He will come and save you
Say to the weary one
Your God will surely come
He will come and save you
He will come and save you
Lift up your eyes to Him
You will arise again
He will come and save you

Say those who are broken hearted
Do not lose your faith
The Lord your God is strong
And with His loving arms
When you call on His Name
He will come and save

Bridge:He is our refuge in the day of trouble
He is our shelter in the time of storm
He is our tower in the day of sorrow
Our fortress in the time of war

interval

I'm getting cold feet
(Who's getting married? No, not me.)
from placing them on the marble-tiled floor.

A teacher

You were my teacher
you hurt me once with
your words, your
misreading of my intentions-
"I think it's so pretentious. Why
don't you give them titles?"

The last I would have wanted
was to be proud, to think
too highly of myself.
To pretend; to be mysterious.
No titles, 'cos I didn't know how
to name them. There was no
Arthur Yap going on
in my mind (In fact, I
hadn't any idea who he was then.
My apologies, sir.)

So here I am, still
writing my broken verses,
but trust me, I'm writing them
on my sleeves.

Do I write them fiercely? I'd
like to give you the image
of the words scrawled across
parchment furiously as my quill flies,
but not quite. (I do try.)
Though I don't toil over them as
Sassoon recommended Owen,
here they are. Records
of what a different teacher
shows me.

Truth(s)

There's the time-contained truth
It makes you draw painful,
ragged breaths in
sometimes
You might hear it in a song,
even perhaps a different language,
but you recognise its emotion
tugging at your heart
a reality experienced;
though sometimes unresolved.

Then there is truth,
immense, uncontained,
by time, words, feelings
There is yearning, but that
which is built
on hope.
You are there and we
will meet one day.

Line of Vision

"Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of on accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to one standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshippers met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they were to become "unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship."
-A.W. Tozer

one more to the collection.

I have a question-what does it take to fill those gaps between certain people and ourselves? Try as I can and want to, sometimes it just doesn't seem to work. I guess I can't grab Life and try to shake answers out of it like the last (or what I hope to be "I am sure there is a one more; I just need to shake harder") toothpick out of the holder.

"When our hearts sing"

When our hearts sing
See how they burst forth
with song
from within, we illuminate
Withhold-we can't anymore
this brea(d)th of beauty
A truth of love

And as these shut-eyes
see beyond the material
our up-turned faces shine
with the light of Your glory
Your pleasure and ours,
shared, precious, ignite.

Two-Parts

(I)
Found huddling in the cold,
You enfold your wings around the child
Lean his head against Your heart
where he falls asleep against your warmth

(II)
I could be
floating on my back
the waters dub-dubbing
past my ears
The sunlight plays a varying melody
as it dips and zigzags
reverberating in its warmth

Contained in Your ocean
washed by the waves
lapping over me
